Wolfhound

John G. Alden’s “last schooner”

NEWS: Wolfhound’s captain/owner and crew is awarded the Cruising Club of America, San Francisco Station’s, 2022 Cruiser of the Year award. What an honor.

In addition the Cruising Club of America has awarded the John Parkinson Memorial Trophy twice to Wolfhound’s captain/owner and crew.  The Transoceanic Passage Trophy is awarded to any member of the Cruising Club of America who makes a transoceanic passage in his or her own yacht, predominantly under sail, and not as a participant in an organized race. It has been awarded more than 450 times since its inception in 1953. Fifty-three members have received the trophy two or more times.

The awards are received with gratitude and are a testament to John Alden’s vision to create a design for an outstanding blue water cruiser. John G. Alden was a founding member of the Cruising Club of America (100 years ago) in 1922, five years before he designed Wolfhound.
